  • Panasonic Leica DG Vario-Summilux
  • extremely fast 25-50mm f/1.7 Lens
  • Leica quality - highest resolution/contrast right to the edge, low distortion
  • Lens speed F1.7 throughout - high field of view and perfect for low light
  • Flexibility with 50-100mm KB - normal to telephoto focal length
  • Magnification 1:2.38
  • Robustness - dust, splash water and cold resistant
  • intuitive operation - click-free aperture ring + focus clutch operation
  • Lens mount: Micro Four Thirds

Extremely fast LEICA telephoto zoom (F1.7) with 50-100mm KB focal length.
Ideal for flexible shots in low light through to cropped portraits. The elaborate construction of the LEICA Lens not only enables brilliant sharpness right to the edge, but also minimal distortion and edge darkening. An aperture ring for stepless adjustment of the exposure and a focus clutch mechanism for direct manual focusing facilitate operation. It is also characterized by a dust and splash-resistant design and can be used in the most adverse conditions down to -10° C. In addition, the Lens also allows strong close-ups with 0.42x magnification at a distance of 31 cm, as well as minimized focus breathing. The filter diameter is 77 mm.

Panasonic presents a new telephoto zoom interchangeable lens for Micro FourThirds:
The LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. (H-X2550) meets the strict LEICA standards with a large F1.7 aperture over the entire zoom range of 50-100 mm (35 mm camera equivalent) and exceptionally high optical performance. With its characteristics, the lens appeals to both professional photographers and videographers alike.

The LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH.
was developed to match the LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 10-25mm / F1.7 ASPH. which is already commercially available and highly acclaimed. These two lenses cover a range from strong wide-angle to telephoto and can replace up to eight typical fixed focal length lenses (20 / 24 / 28 / 35 / 50 / 75 / 85 / 100mm, KB) with the same or even higher imaging performance. Both have a consistent speed of F1.7 with attractive bokeh and high imaging performance over the entire zoom range. Thanks to the uniform image appearance and handling, photographers and filmmakers can achieve unique results with these two lenses with minimal effort.

16 elements in 11 groups make up the lens system, which features an aspherical lens and three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) lenses that effectively suppress axial chromatic aberration and chromatic aberration at magnification. The effective correction of spherical aberration and distortion by the aspherical lenses results in the outstanding optical performance of the lens with compact dimensions and low weight.

Fast, high-precision autofocusing is made possible by sensor control at a maximum of 240 fps.
The focus ring is equipped with a manual focus clutch for fast switching between autofocus and manual focus. For additional intuitive and precise focusing, the manual focus can be set to linear or non-linear. While the minimum focus distance in the wide-angle range is 0.28m (0.31m in the telephoto range), the maximum magnification is 0.42x (KB), making the Lens also well suited for macro photography. The diameter of the filter is 77mm.

The new Lens also offers special advantages for video recordings. In addition to silent operation thanks to internal focusing, the stepless aperture ring and aperture adjustment in extremely small steps help to easily adapt to changes in brightness when zooming or panning. The optical design achieves exceptional barycentric stability to minimize image shifts when zooming. The LEICA DG VARIO-SUMMILUX 25-50mm / F1.7 ASPH. also ensures high-quality video recording by minimizing focus breathing as much as possible.

In addition, the robust, dust and splash resistant construction withstands use in harsh conditions even at minus 10 degrees*.

*Dust and splash resistant does not guarantee full protection if the lens comes into direct contact with dust and water.
*Design and specifications are subject to change without notice.
