  • Over 40,000 celestial objects in the database, 100 user-definable objects, additional information on 200 objects
  • Special database with the most popular deep-sky objects by name and catalog number: the most beautiful double and multiple stars; variable stars; solar system; star patterns
  • Newly designed drive base and mechanics for quiet operation, with large-dimensioned gears and large quick couplings; connection for AutoGuider and PC; self-centering for mounting on the tripod
  • Permanent correction of the periodic worm error (PEC = Periodic Error Control) with optional polar wedge for perfect astrophotos
  • Easy-to-find, large clutch knobs on both axes for manual operation
  • Quick-release, spring-loaded all-metal finder bracket
  • Tracking base with extremely large 28 cm bearing ensures smooth, stable tracking with any telescope size
  • SkyAlign technology: Simply select three bright celestial objects and the telescope will tell you which ones they are
  • The software of the hand control and the motor control unit can be updated via the Internet using flash technology
  • Aux socket for additional accessories such as autoguiders

As the largest model in the CPC GPS family, the CPC 1100 GPS collects the most light and reaches stars almost up to magnitude 15. This Schmidt-Cassegrain thus utilizes the entire database with thousands of NGC and Abell galaxies, while at the same time revealing new details on the known objects. With modern software functions such as hibernation, the mount retains its alignment over many nights without you having to reinitialize it. This makes it ideal for a fixed observatory.

The CPC 1100 GPS XLT is easy to transport thanks to its fork mount and features the StarBright XLT coating. The telescope is perfect for visual observations and also enables professional astrophotography with an optional polar wedge and CCD camera.

If you point the telescope at the planets, you will see fascinating details on the surface of Jupiter, the Cassini division of Saturn's rings and surface details on Mars. Even Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are within your reach.

Despite the large aperture, the telescope is so portable thanks to the practical carrying handle and a weight of around 19 kilograms that you can set it up in your garden just as easily as in your favorite spot under a dark sky.

Professional XLT computer telescopes
With the CPC series, Celestron introduces the most stable fork mount that has ever been produced in the 40 years of Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The completely redesigned tripod and a huge 280 mm ball bearing in the fork base allow vibration-free observation even at the highest magnifications.

The azimuthal fork mount is not as variable as the German mount, as it is matched to the tube diameter. This disadvantage is compensated for by its compact design, low weight, good transportability and, most importantly, incredibly fast set-up. You are ready to observe in just a few minutes. Simply set up the tripod, level it with the built-in circular level, attach the fork mount - and switch it on.

Built-in GPS
The 16-channel GPS receiver transmits the time, date and location coordinates to the electronics. This means you no longer have to enter the time and location yourself - the telescope automatically has the exact data.

SKY ALIGN ...
... is Celestron's alignment method for perfect GoTo positioning. The telescope no longer needs a defined home position: you place three bright stars (planets and the moon are also possible) one after the other in the telescope's field of view and voilá, your CPC telescope is ready for automatic GoTo positioning on any object from the manual control database.

SkyAlign calculates the position of your telescope from the distances traveled by the three stars and the corresponding angles. SkyAlign "fetches" the other data required for this (date, time and location coordinates) via the integrated 16-channel GPS receiver.

"SkyAlign only works in azimuthal operation of the telescope, i.e. when the telescope is operated directly on the tripod without a polar altitude cradle. But Celestron also has some new and simplified alignment procedures for equatorial operation in the CPC series.

Extensive database
The database of the CPC telescopes contains over 40,000 celestial objects, including the Messier and Caldwell catalogs as well as galaxies and nebulae from the NGC catalog and the planets. You can narrow down the selection to simplify the search in this comprehensive database and hide the objects that are currently below the horizon.

The "Identify" function tells you what you are looking at in the telescope and makes it easy to explore the sky. Simply point the telescope at any area of the sky and display the nearest Messier objects, for example - the telescope will move to them for you. You can do this in different areas of the sky and with different objects!

With "Solar Sys Align" you can also align the telescope during the day using the sun or moon to observe the planets or the brightest stars in the daytime sky.
