  • High-quality, fully multi-coated glass filter with dichroic coating - blocks infrared radiation
  • Best possible color balance and sharpness
  • Can be used optionally for maximum flexibility - no need to buy a camera with an IR cut filter fitted
  • Compatible with Skyris color cameras and astronomy cameras from The Imaging Source, among others

Color CCD cameras such as the Skyris planetary cameras are very sensitive across the entire spectrum - in the visual as well as the infrared. Many telescopes only correct the color error in the visual range, but not in the infrared range, which is invisible to us. The images can therefore appear blurred - especially if a pure mirror system is not used.

An IR cut filter enables the best color balance and the greatest sharpness. This filter blocks the infrared radiation while allowing over 94% of all visible light to pass through and thus does not distort the colors.

The filter has C-mount threads on both sides and is screwed between the camera and the 1.25" adapter.
