  • Standard fixed focal length lens
  • Speed f0.95 throughout
  • outstanding imaging performance
  • unsurpassed bokeh
  • Nikon Z bayonet

The lens inherits the concept of the original AI Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/1.2, a standard fixed focal length lens introduced in 1977 that was named after the "Nocturne" (a composition inspired by the night) and was particularly praised for its ability to capture point-like light sources. This new Noct lens, currently under development, utilizes the flexibility that the advanced Z bayonet brings to lens design in the pursuit of ultimate optical performance. The development also aims to achieve an extreme speed of 1:0.95 - for ultimate NIKKOR imaging performance with outstanding detail and sharpness. Further development goals are a particularly beautiful bokeh with natural transitions from sharp to blurred and outstanding imaging performance for point light sources - for impressive images with a three-dimensional effect.
