The camera WG-6, the latest top model of the WG series, which combines particularly robust and reliable features with high-quality camera technology in the completely newly developed body.
Compact cameras of the RICOH WG series withstand the most extraordinary shooting situations and stand for unlimited fun in photography and filming. The RICOH WG-6 follows this claim in every respect, with an all-new design.

The possibilities and places for leisure activities have never been as varied as they are today, and some of them are becoming more and more unusual. Unusual experiences such as house running, rafting, dog sledding or survival training want to be captured just as much as the best vacation moments or time spent together with the family. In many of these shooting situations, a camera with interchangeable lenses is too bulky or, like a smartphone, not sufficiently protected. But that's exactly when the WG-6 really comes into its own, delivering top-quality images on every occasion.

For example, the new WG-6 is waterproof to a depth of 20 meters, cold-resistant to -10°C, pressure-resistant to 100 kg and break-resistant from a drop of up to 2.1 meters. With a high-modern 20 megapixel CMOS sensor and a powerful image processor, stirringly sharp photos and videos in 4K resolution are created even under the most extreme conditions. The GPS function can be used to record the shooting locations and an electronic com-pass is used to determine the position. A 5x zoom lens from 28 to 140 mm (KB equiv.) is available for an extensive shooting range. Six LED lights arranged around the Lens provide sufficient light at short shooting distances and can also be switched on selectively to illuminate an object more three-dimensionally.

To share images and videos quickly with friends, the optional Flas-hAirTM SD memory card offers the advantages of a WLAN function for image transfer.

With many other functions, such as 18 scene programs for different shooting situations or 12 filters for subsequent image editing, the WG-6 offers a complete package that hardly any other camera in the compact class can match.

This makes the RICOH WG-6 the perfect compact camera for any age and any situation.

The RICOH WG-6 in detail
The most stable body design in the history of the WG series
The WG series has always stood for an indestructible body that can withstand even the most extreme conditions. The completely redesigned body of the WG-6 is waterproof like never before, up to a diving depth of 20 meters and up to 2 hours (certified according to IPX8 and JIS Class 8), dustproof (according to IPX6 and JIS Class 6), cold-resistant up to -10°C, pressure-resistant up to 100 kg and break-resistant from a drop height of up to 2.1 meters. There are hardly any situations in which the WG-6 is not available for great pictures or videos.
20 MP Backside-Illuminated CMOS sensor for high-resolution images
The WG-6 uses a state-of-the-art CMOS sensor with "Backside Illumination" technology, which is characterized by a higher light yield and ensures fast readout of the image data. In combination with the new high-performance image processor, the 20-megapixel sensor delivers sharp and brilliant images with low image noise even at the maximum light sensitivity of ISO 6400. The use of the latest super-resolution technology has also enhanced the image processing functions, which additionally ensure super high-resolution images. In addition, there are further innovative functions, such as the handheld night recording mode, which automatically captures several images of the same night scene and calculates a single sharp image from them.
4K resolution for exciting and high-resolution film recordings
With a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels in H.264 recording format at 30 frames per second, the WG-6 offers high-resolution film recordings in 4K quality and thus also the best prerequisites for use as an action cam. In addition to the proven Movie SR mode* (Shake Reduction), the WG-6 also features a new Movie SR+ mode* that creates a special shake reduction effect similar to the use of a camera stabilizer to deliver high-quality movie footage even during high-speed outdoor activities.

* When either of these modes is activated, the angle of view becomes narrower. Movie SR+ mode can be used at a recording size smaller than Full HD format (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

5x optical zoom lens with extra wide angle
The RICOH WG-6 features a 5x optical zoom lens that covers a focal range from 28 mm wide angle to 140 mm telephoto (KB equiv.), covering a particularly wide range of applications, from sweeping landscapes to interesting detail shots, with a minimum focusing distance of just 1 cm.

The Intelligent Zoom function extends the zoom range by approximately 40.5x without compromising image quality. The interval shooting mode makes it particularly easy to shoot series of photos from a fixed point.
The focal length can even be extended to 22 mm with the optional DW-5 wide-angle converter.
6 LED lights Ring light unit for detailed close-up shots.

There are 6 LED lights around the Lens to illuminate subjects sufficiently even at short shooting distances. Particularly in close-up shots, the subjects are often in the shadows and it is difficult to place a light source there. With the ring-shaped LED's, a light is generated that provides optimal brightness for close-up shots. The LED ring light unit also provides good illumination for portraits taken at close range. Selective illumination is also possible, allowing only the horizontally or vertically aligned lights to be switched on in order to make a subject appear more three-dimensional or to emphasize certain contours.
3-inch monitor with an especially large viewing angle.

The WG-6 is equipped with a large, high-resolution 3-inch LCD monitor with an aspect ratio of 3:2 and approximately 1,040,000 pixels. The AR (Anti Reflection) coating minimizes annoying reflections and ensures a sharp, clear screen image even when shooting outdoors with strong sunlight and backlight. In addition, the monitor brightness can be adjusted to the respective lighting conditions of the environment, so that a very good recognition of the monitor image is guaranteed even in direct sunlight. The electronic spirit level is also displayed on the monitor, so that the camera can be perfectly aligned during shooting.
Advanced GPS functions for easier data recording.

The WG-6 has a built-in GPS module. This allows position data and shooting data to be automatically recorded in parallel with the captured images. This module can be activated with a single keystroke. By coupling with the SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation System), even more accurate position data can be captured at different locations and times. When shooting indoors, the previously acquired position data can be transferred to the images then captured using the GPS Lock function.
Many scene programs and digital filters for optimum image composition.

18 scene programs are available for various shooting requirements, with which the camera automatically makes the right settings for special scene situations, such as for sports, night, macro or underwater shots.

In addition, captured images can also be edited directly in the camera. For example, 12 filters are available to give the photos their very own touch afterwards.
With automatic face recognition of up to 30 faces, it is even easier to take portraits or even selfies. Even animals such as dogs or cats are recognized by the camera and the focus and exposure settings are automatically optimized.
In addition, two user-defined settings can be stored on the function dial and quickly selected via it.
